Stilbaai is a charming seaside village which forms part of the famous “Garden Route” with its close neighbours Jongensfontein and Melkhoutfontein. It is situated along the banks of the Goukou River estuary where it meets the Indian Ocean on the Southern Cape coast of South Africa.
The town can be reached by road and lies 26 kilometres from the N2 between Mossel Bay and Riversdale. Stilbaai can also be reached by air or sea. The town is serviced by a national airport at George, 150 km to the east and the local airstrip for small aircraft as well as a fishing harbour.
Stilbaai is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Garden Route. With its popularity and increase in holiday makers, it remains a peaceful, pollution-free place where families come together to celebrate nature, good friendship and a chance to revive one’s soul.
Stilbaai is the perfect holiday destination where, thanks to the shallow bay and the clean extensive sandy beaches every kind of water-related activity can be undertaken: swimming, sunbathing, surfing, windsurfing, kite surfing, angling, walking, sailing, canoeing, boating and waterskiing. The beach has Blue Flag Status witch makes it the perfect place to spend leisurely days in the sun.
Stilbaai Touchies is a highlight with thousands of people coming to the beach annually on the 26th of December. This Pro-Series showcases the brightest touch rugby talent in the country with the top 8 teams cracking the whip against each other for the title of “Kings of the Beach”.
